Erio-PP
This program is freeware - there is no charge associated with Erio-PP.
Erio-PP is a small program that will store your personal passwords, mostly for use online. You can create/amend data cards and you can also copy and paste to a site form, from a card.
Instructions
There are no instructions included in the download but the program is very easy to use.
Use the different fields as you will. The top line should relate to the site since it is the name that will appear in the list when you first enter the program. The two at the bottom right are more appropriate for storing the memorable words used on sites that require returning characters at specific positions.
To enter the program, the password is three full stops "..." Once in, get the Erio-PP card, change the password to something else and save the card using Amend.
To create a new card, get an existing one, modify the existing data as required and save it as New. You can also Amend the existing details on a card.
Once a card is accessed, any operation performed will close the program. This is tedious but it does mean that only one card will be vulnerable should you forget to close the card.
Since the program data is unlikely to see many changes, there is little point in having a delete card facility. Simply delete the data on the card, give it an appropriate site name such as "Empty" and save as Amend.
WARNINGS!
Ensure that you NEVER leave the Erio-PP card exposed! This has your password for the database. Someone could note the password or alter it thereby locking you out of your own database!
The program entry password is held in a card just like any other. You can change the name of the card from Erio-PP if you wish and you certainly should change the password from the initial three full stops. However make sure you note what you have changed or you will not have access to your database.
If you amend the Erio-PP card details and forget them, you will not be able to enter the program. If you have just a few cards you can always delete the data file (ErioPP.da1) and start again.
If you have many cards you may want me to attempt to restore the database. If that is the case I will be requiring sufficient information to satisfy myself that you are the legitimate user of that data. There may be a charge for this service. The moral of the story is don't get into this sort of trouble!
Ensure that the data file ErioPP.da1 forms part of your normal back-up strategy.
Installation
Unzip the download specifying a folder C:\Erio Any programs from Erio Services can co-exist within the same folder.
The download will unzip to one file. ErioPP.exe is the program. The encoded data file ErioPP.da1 is not supplied since it will be created when the program is first run. Indeed if you get into trouble, you can always delete the ErioPP.da1 file and start again!
You may want to create a short-cut to Erio-PP on your desktop. Do note that ErioPP.exe and ErioPP.da1 must exist within the same folder. Your shortcut should point to this folder.
To uninstall simply delete the ErioPP.exe and ErioPP.da1 files and any desktop shortcut you may have created.
